METSTRADE: Electric propulsion control range released by Glendinning Products

Control for electric propulsion launched by Glendinning - chrome effect handle over main unit

USA based Glendinning Products is introducing a range of controls designed for electric propulsion applications.

The lineup includes its traditional Prograde’ design as well as a more contemporary ‘Genesys’ style. That means all controls are IP68 waterproof and utilise dual channel (Hall Effect) sensors. They’re available in both analogue and J1939 CAN versions as standard, with alternative custom models available as required.

“As the use of electric propulsion systems grows around the world, we have been getting an increasing number of requests from boat builders and electric drive manufacturers,” says John Glendinning president. He says that both are looking for custom built controls that provide the functionality they need without compromising the overall styling. “We’ve decided to go ahead and introduce a standard range of products for easier access and faster delivery times,” he says.

“These are controls specifically designed for use with electric propulsion engines. As the market is increasing fast on electric marine engines there is also a demand for the controls to partner with them,” explains Paul Woodlock, GMA (European representatives for Glendinning Products).

He says the electric propulsion market is growing globally, so the demand for controls to compliment these engines is increasing everywhere.

Glendinning is taking the new controls to METSTRADE (stand no. 05-310), and has more information on its website.

“METSTRADE is the only place to meet all marine colleagues (new & old) under one roof. It truly is a global show, showcasing every component available for boats,” concludes Woodlock.
