Italian boatbuilder launches luxury tender division with first model headed to 70m superyacht
Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi (FIM) has launched a new division dedicated to luxury tenders.
“With FIM Tender Division, we aim to enter a highly technical and selective segment, where the tender is not simply a service craft, but an essential element of the experience on board a large yacht,” says Corrado Piccinelli, founder and CEO of FIM.
Founded in 2019 and based in Cividate al Piano, Bergamo, FIM describes itself as one of the most dynamic and fast-growing players in the Italian boating industry.
First tender destined for 70-metre yacht
First in the tender range is the TT9 Open. That’s a 9.40-metre tender with a carbon composite hull. It’s designed as a chase boat, guest tender or independent day boat.
“The TT9 Open was created to respond to precise operational requirements,” says Piccinelli, “while maintaining construction quality, aesthetic taste and the pleasure of navigation. It is a project that fully reflects our way of understanding the sea: beauty, functionality and Italian identity.”
The first unit is destined for a 70-metre superyacht. Features include a compact helm station and a layout designed for efficiency. Because of the central passage layout, FIM says circulation on board is simple and functional.
“Our goal is to develop tenders that are not only functional, but fully integrated into the onboard experience, through bespoke solutions capable of interpreting operational requirements, refined aesthetics and the owner’s identity, according to a vision founded on the values of high-end craftsmanship and elegance,” says Manuela Barcella, founder and MD of FIM.
Future models include limo and taxi tender concepts
FIM is offering personalisation across the shipyard’s new division, looking at special configurations, service, protection, privacy, hospitality and aesthetic integration.
For example, in new projects currently under development the TT9 Limo is configured to offer greater protection and privacy during guest transfers, and its TX9 Taxi Tender is being developed for high-end hotel and hospitality contexts (with transport an integral part of the overall experience).
