Scanstrut has launched the DS-HSL-01 Starlink Compatible Horizontal Cable Seal for routing cables used with onboard and rooftop electronics.

The product is designed for Starlink Gen 3 systems, alongside NMEA, RJ45 and other similar cables. It is intended for use on boats, RVs and overland vehicles, using a horizontal entry design that keeps cables close to the mounting surface.

Scanstrut says split, pre-drilled bungs and an internal cavity allow installers to pass pre-fitted connectors through the seal without cutting or re-terminating cables. A self-drill bung is also supplied for custom cable sizes while maintaining a watertight seal.

The DS-HSL-01 uses a compact, impact-resistant construction, based on the company’s existing horizontal cable seal platform, and is rated IP68 for water and dust protection.

The unit supports cable diameters from 2 to 8mm and connector sizes up to 16mm. Scanstrut says it can be used for applications including Starlink systems, solar panels, light bars, onboard lighting and communication equipment.

Key features include compatibility with Starlink Performance, Enterprise, Standard (Gen 3) and Mini systems, captive nuts for repeat installation, UV-stable materials, no sealant requirement and colour options in black or grey. The product is supplied with a three-year warranty. More information is available on the Scanstrut website.

Scanstrut, which is based in the UK and the USA, manufactures mounting, charging and connectivity products for marine, RV, commercial and outdoor markets. The firm recently won a prestigious Red Dot design award for its Ventura Series of compact, waterproof utility sockets.
