Marine decking company, Teakdecking Systems (TDS), is the new distributor of MarineCork products in the US.

TDS will exclusively distribute MarineCork’s cork-based decking systems, providing boatbuilders, shipyards, and owners with an environmentally responsible alternative to traditional decking.

MarineCork’s cork-based solutions derived from a naturally renewable resource align closely with TDS’s mission to offer environmentally conscious decking options alongside its traditional teak and composite systems, the company says.

This strategic agreement marks a key step in expanding access to sustainable, high-performance decking materials across the US. Founded in 1983, Teakdecking Systems is an employee-owned company supplying teak, composite and cork decking systems.

“We are proud to partner with MarineCork and bring their cork decking to the US. market,” says Richard Strauss, CEO of Teakdecking Systems. “Sustainability is becoming a central priority for our industry, and this partnership allows us to offer a product that not only reduces environmental impact but also delivers the quality, comfort, and longevity our customers expect. MarineCork is a natural fit within our portfolio as we continue to expand responsible alternatives for modern vessel design.”

“The partnership with TDS, the exclusive distributor of MarineCork products in the United States, marks an important step in strengthening our position in a strategic region for the marine industry. We selected TDS as our partner because it is a recognised reference in the sector, with proven experience in high-end decking solutions and a strong focus on sustainable materials,” says Sandro Serena, CEO of SACE Components. “We share the same approach to cork-based solutions, ensuring comfort and long-term performance, while enhancing onboard spaces through customisable surfaces.”

With facilities in Florida and Spain, TDS provides decking, repair, and maintenance products including caulk, epoxy, cleaners, and adhesives available through national and global distributors.

MarineCork’s cork technology offers a combination of sustainability and performance. According to MarineCork, cork provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, a soft and comfortable underfoot feel, and long-term durability in demanding marine environments. It is naturally renewable and harvested with minimal environmental impact.

In 2025, TDS launched marine decking product, SeaSole, designed to fill a market gap between soft foam decking and traditional polyurethane systems.
