US boating industry gears up for annual advocacy event

The recreational boating industry in the United States is preparing for its annual advocacy event, the American Boating Congress (ABC), taking place from 8–10 May 2024 in Washinton, D.C..

Leaders from all segments of the recreational boating and fishing industry are set to the nation’s capital to address pressing matters impacting the industry.

The three-day event is organised by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), a trade association representing the North American recreational boating industry. It will provide attendees with an opportunity to engage in discussions with members of Congress and staff on Capitol Hill.

From meetings with lawmakers to informative policy updates, networking opportunities, receptions, and a special keynote dinner, NMMA promises the event will ‘equip industry leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the ever-changing landscape.’

Topics on the agenda for the American Boating Congress 2024 include policy areas such as boating access, infrastructure, tariffs, and sustainability. As the 2024 presidential election approaches, attendees will also have the chance to stay informed on timely political updates from insiders based in Washington, D.C.

In 2023, the NMMA relocated its headquarters from Chicago to Washington D.C, as part of its ongoing expansion.

While the NMMA has had a Washington, D.C. office for more than 40 years, it says its new headquarters offers a larger footprint for its growing government relations and public affairs teams as well as administrative and operations teams. The new offices are within walking distance of the U.S. Capitol and key government offices and administrative agencies.

Registration for the American Boating Congress 2024 is now open, and available on the NMMA website.
