Antonini Navi announces 28m expedition yacht

Full-custom XPD88

Antonini Navi has collaborated with architecture firm Sculli for the construction of XPD88, a 28-metre full-custom expedition yacht.

The new project will be built together with the 40-metre UP 40 platform, which is currently under construction at the La Spezia shipyard in Italy.

The XPD88 is a 28-metre full-custom expedition yacht made entirely of steel. Antonini Navi says the XPD88 is characterised by generous volumes – unusual for a yacht with a beam of 8.5 metres – and striking style.

Antonini Navi proves it has a winning business formula,” says Simone Antonini, the shipyard’s CEO. “The XPD88 completes and realises the promise we made at the launch of the shipyard, which included the production of full custom yachts, entirely made-to-measure.

“The latter joins the offer of a line of superyachts, of which the 40-metre platform is currently under construction, and the construction of a boat for third parties, which, only a few months ago, saw the delivery of three hulls and related metal superstructures.”

Sculli is known for its work on high-end expedition vessels. This pleasure craft, said to be designed to experience the sea and the slow-cruising experience, features environments typical of larger yachts, such as the large aft workshop/garage, the laundry and ironing room and a cold room adjacent to the kitchen area, and offers spacious crew quarters.

The owner will have the upper deck as a dedicated private area. The project also offers a choice of three propulsion solutions, in addition to the traditional diesel one, including a more sustainable diesel-electric hybrid engine.

In June, Antonini Navi partnered with Camper & Nicholsons International to promote the sales of the new Utility Platform 40, designed by the architect Fulvio De Simoni.
