Arco Marine adds to alternator ranges with Zeus 48v & 24v

Arco Marine’s new Zeus 48v and 24v alternator ranges are designed to provide safe, reliable and smooth power for both fast cruising and slow idling vessels, says the company.

The new Zeus A8000-48V features a newly-designed 48v rotor to help with efficiency, cooler operation and power generation.The company says that the rotor not only maximises efficiency but also prevents excessive field current reductions, ensuring the best possible performance at all RPM levels. This results in a cooler-running alternator with enhanced longevity, providing reliable power without the risk of component failure.

Engineered to turn on at lower RPMs while delivering greater power output than its larger, heavier counterparts, it consistently generates over 3kW (55 amps) at 2,500 RPM, and nearly 6kW (111 amps) at 4,000 Alternator RPM.

“Our customers have been asking for a 48V offering with the same build quality they’ve come to expect from Arco Zeus,” says Chris Witzgall, VP of Sales at Arco. “What they did not expect was such a great performer, easily outclassing the competition while using the same footprint as our 12V/24V products. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this level of innovation to the market and see how it transforms 48V power solutions.”

Aroc’s new 24v alternators (which are now also available in New Zealand via Lusty and Blundell’s network, with other distributor information available online) are available in two versions: the Zeus 7kW High Output 24V Alternator and the Zeus 4kW Low Turn-On (LTO) Alternator. The latter is said to be perfect for boats with a low RPM diesel, or for those who value idle-speed charging which the company describes as ‘lazily idling at anchor or cruising at low RPM’.

Competitively priced, yet capable of delivering an 5000w-plus of continuous power at rated temperatures, the Zeus 7kW High Output 24V Alternator is said to be ideal for those who need a high-power output while at moderate to high cruising speeds.

Arco, which manufactures engine parts and electrical system components in the USA, also launched the Arco Zeus alternators A275L and A225S in July 2024. That was the introduction of the Zeus category, which Arco says is committed to developing innovative, best-in-class products.
