Arco releases two high power density alternators in Zeus range

Arco, which manufactures engine parts and electrical system components in the USA, has launched what it’s terming ‘revolutionary’ high output alternators, namely the Arco Zeus alternators A275L and A225S.

With this new Zeus category, Arco says it is committed to developing innovative, best-in-class products.

“The Zeus alternator line is a further development of our commitment to innovation in energy creation and management,” says Ben Stoddard, CEO at Arco Marine.

“Due to the sustained power that our alternators provide, we at Arco are proud to help users adopt technology that meets the demands of today’s power consumption needs and is one step closer to eliminating the need for a standalone generator. The A275L and A225s are engineered for high energy production, and energy-savvy users and technicians will be delighted when they see the price.

The alternators come in both internal/external and externally-only regulated models, the power curves and testing details are available on the A275L and A225S product pages.

In 2023, Arco launched its line of Arco Zeus high-energy products with the Arco Zeus Bluetooth alternator regulator. The Zeus Bluetooth alternator regulator was recognised as a true innovation in the marine and RV industries by winning the IBEX innovation award and nomination at METS.

Earlier this month, Arco announced it’d hired Rob Bell to lead the development of the new high-output alternators (which have previously won an IBEX award). Bell brings 38 years of experience in the automotive and marine electrical industry. He’s led the successful development of high-output alternators in both 12V and 24V configurations for marine, industrial, and RV applications.

While Arco has built and supplied high-quality engine parts that include alternators for the past 60 years, it says developing and offering the highest output alternators in their class has been a priority since launching the Zeus high energy collection.

Bell will oversee and further develop the most advanced high-output alternators in their class on the market. These future high-output alternators include 24V and 48V options.

“We are excited to introduce a new range of high-energy alternators, featuring both small and large frame options currently in 12V,” says Bell. “My immediate focus will be on developing 24V and 48V high-energy alternators within the same frame size as our large units. The prioritisation of 48V units reflects the industry’s shift towards these systems, offering significant advantages over traditional 12V setups. They are safer, more efficient, cost-effective, and represent a future-proof solution.”
