ICOMIA has confirmed that Asociacion Nautica de Colombia (Asonáutica) has joined as a full member, marking its entry into the organisation’s international network.
Founded in February 2015 with support from local and international institutions, Asonáutica is the Colombian nautical association representing members from the private yachting industry in Colombia. It represents interests in navigation, culture, tourism, recreation and sport across the country’s marine sector.
The organisation supports growth and competitiveness in the Colombian marine sector, as well as developing business activity and promoting nautical culture. Its scope covers marinas, yacht clubs, shipyards, distributors and dealers, nautical tourism services, watersports and sailing.
Meylin Carballo Salguedo, executive director at Asonáutica, says: “Asonáutica’s membership in ICOMIA marks an important milestone for Colombia’s nautical sector and opens new opportunities for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and sustainable growth.
“We are proud to join ICOMIA as part of our commitment to strengthening the Colombian nautical industry and increasing its visibility within the global marine community.
“This membership represents a valuable step for Asonáutica in connecting our sector with international best practices, innovation, and strategic partnerships that can support the long-term development of the nautical industry in Colombia.”
