The Azimut-Benetti Group has appointed Andrea Antichi as general manager of the Azimut division.

Antichi officially assumed the role on Monday (12 May 2025) and reports directly to CEO Marco Valle. Working with company leadership, Antichi will be responsible for shaping the division’s strategic direction and delivering on both economic and industrial targets.

The Azimut-Benetti Group says his immediate focus is the ongoing reorganisation and development of Azimut’s production sites, which are currently undergoing changes aimed at enhancing capacity and capability.

Antichi is a mechanical engineer with a background in industrial manufacturing. He joined Ferrari in 2006 and held a series of progressively senior roles, eventually serving as chief manufacturing officer. Prior to his time at Ferrari, Antichi worked in technical roles at Piaggio and conducted research at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, focusing on computational biomechanics.

This appointment is part of Azimut’s broader organisational strategy, which the group says aims to combine expertise in the yachting sector with leadership experience from other sectors.

Marco Valle, CEO of the Azimut-Benetti Group, comments: “Andrea’s appointment is an important part of the current phase of evolution of the Azimut division, which commits to building the foundation of an ambitious vision for the coming years: accelerating industrial development with an increasingly structured approach, while continuing to innovate constantly.

“The transformation of the Avigliana facility, now capable of producing boats up to 26 metres, is a testament to this improvement path. Bringing both experience and managerial vision, Andrea will make a decisive contribution in guiding a new phase of growth, in making production processes even more efficient and in continuing to raise our quality standards.”

Antichi adds: “After 19 years at Ferrari, a symbol of Italian automotive excellence in the world, I have chosen to come aboard the excellence of the yachting sector.”

The group also acknowledged the contribution of Daniele Romiti, who has served as general manager since 2022. Romiti led several projects focused on upgrading production capabilities, with particular attention on improving the sustainability of operations.

Founded in 1969 by Paolo Vitelli, Azimut is part of the Azimut-Benetti Group and manufactures motor yachts ranging from 42ft to 144ft (13 to 44 metres). The brand’s portfolio includes seven model series: Verve, Atlantis, Magellano, Fly, S, Grande and Seadeck. The company operates five production facilities in Italy (Avigliana, Fano, Viareggio, Savona and Varazze) and one in Itajai, Brazil.
