Barrus enters the marine chandlery distribution market

E.P. Barrus Ltd has announced the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement for Talamex, a uniformly branded range of over 3500 chandlery items. E.P. Barrus state that this is the first step in establishing a portfolio to become a leading distributor in the chandlery and aftermarket sector.

Talamex is owned by the leading Dutch distributor Lankhorst Taselaar, who was recently purchased by the Brunswick Corporation and claims to offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of marine product in the industry. The line-up includes a mix of technical and non-technical products suitable for sailing boats, motor boats, and inflatables and has been carefully selected over the last 20 years.

Talamex has developed a leading position in Europe by offering an extensive range of chandlery products and creating a striking in-store presence through strong branding and creative packaging ideas. This is the first and only brand in the UK to offer such a concept.

The Talamex line-up will join the Attwood range of products that Barrus currently distributes and opens a new avenue for a company already well known for distributing a portfolio of marine brands which includes Mercury and Yanmar engines, Mariner outboard motors and Quicksilver boats.

E.P. Barrus has over 100 years’ experience in distributing products across multiple industry sectors and over 75 years within the marine industry. The announcement last year of a new 17-acre site further enhances Barrus’ potential in this sector and provides a credible and reliable option for both manufacturers and trade customers alike.

Talamex products will be available from Barrus in October 2018.
