Michael Müller has been appointed CEO of Bavaria Yachts by the shipyard’s advisory board.

Together with managing directors Norbert Leifeld (COO) and Thorsten Gatz (CFO), Müller will take the helm of the German shipyard, which has around 700 employees and is based near Würzburg.

Müller was CEO at Bavaria Yachts from 2019 to 2021 and has also served an advisory board member. In 2021, he handed over the reins to Marc Diening, who steered the firm through the covid crisis.

With the new sailing yacht Bavaria C46 and the motorboat Bavaria SR33, Diening has launched two yachts on the market this year.

In a media statement, the company confirms Diening is leaving his position as CEO ‘at his own request.’
