Turkish boatbuilder Bering Yachts has revealed details of its new flagship explorer yacht, the 49.4-metre B165.

The vessel, first introduced at the recent Dubai International Boat Show, has a swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds located at an elongated aft deck, which can increase in space courtesy of unfolding bulwarks.

When not in use, the covered pool serves as a storage area for water toys and equipment. Two tenders can be placed on the aft. The interior area includes two VIP suites and a separate dining and lounge area. A main lounge features a large dining table for 12, while a room on the bow can serve as a movie theatre or as an additional guest cabin.

Another distinctive feature of B165 is a roomy owner deck with almost 70sqm of interior space. It sports a 32sqm stateroom with a large bathroom area and a 34sqm sky lounge equipped with a bar, a table, and plenty of seating. An open zone aft features a large table for alfresco dining.

A lounge with a jacuzzi is located on the bow. A private service room can be used to prepare and serve meals. The food elevator connects it with a similar service area on the main deck and with a galley on the lower deck.

Living accommodations on the lower deck include three guest rooms, a crew mass and four cabins, which can host up to eight crew members. One extra cabin can accommodate two additional personnel, such as a nanny, guide or masseur. The spacious main galley and engine room are also located on this deck.

“We are building responsibly,” says Alexei Mikhailov, Bering Yachts’ founder, who claims the vessel has been built with consideration for the environment. “Designing a large engine room, we definitely had alternative energy solutions in mind. There is plenty of space to accommodate hybrid applications and install a big battery bank.”

At a projected length of 49.4 metres, the new boat will have a beam of 9 metres with a gross tonnage of 499 GT. It will be powered by two Caterpillar C32 engines with 1,300 HP each, which will propel this steel and aluminium superyacht to 12 knots of cruise and 15 knots of maximum speed. Bering says 70,000 litres of fuel guarantees an over 4,000 nautical miles range. ABT TRAC systems ensure stable travel for all 12 guests.

The bridge deck features an additional lounge equipped with a sit-up bar, an outside movie theatre, a day head, and a firepit. Captain’s quarters and a wheelhouse are also located here. A step above the bridge is a crow’s nest, a private space on a hard top with an unobstructed 360-degree view.

Swiss naval architecture firm Valentin Design is responsible for the exterior design.

Late last year, MIN reported that Bering Yachts is manufacturing its first aluminium catamarans, starting with two models — B60 CAT and B80 CAT. The first Bering-built cats will be delivered in 2025.
