Boat Club Trafalgar extends range

Boat Club Trafalgar is extending the cruising areas and destinations available to club members to include Christchurch Bay, Swanage and Studland Bays, and Poole Harbour.

The club says it’s experienced a 70% growth in membership since the start of the pandemic and has recently added two new boats to its fleet.

Based in Portsmouth Harbour, all Boat Club Trafalgar members get to cruise the Solent following their initial training using the Club’s range of RIBs, sports boats and cabin cruisers for a monthly subscription fee.

Now members can choose to extend their cruising range to include Chichester and Langstone Harbours to the east, and Swanage, Studland and Poole Harbour to the west.

To do this members must complete bespoke induction sessions or appropriate RYA training to demonstrate they have the required level of experience, navigational, seamanship and safety skills.

“We are thrilled to be opening up this new area for our members,” says Boat Club Trafalgar’s MD, Jonny Boys. “Over 58% of our members have never owned a boat before they joined the boat club and we pride ourselves on helping them all gain and build their boating skills to get the absolute most out of their boating adventures, without any of the hassles normally associated with owning a boat.

“Extending our range to Swanage, Studland and Poole means that those members who are keen to spend nights away and push themselves a bit further will have fantastic cruising in these stunning destinations.”

The club has recently added a new Merry Fisher 695 cabin cruiser and an Axopar 22 Spyder to the members fleet, alongside its fleet of Ballistic RIBs, Finnmaster sports boats and a Pilot 7 and a Merry Fisher 795 Marlin.

Four more boats are due to join the fleet during the summer including a Parker 690 Bow Rider, a Quicksilver 605 Pilothouse and two 6.0m Ballistic RIBs.
