Brig USA and Fluid Marine name new president

Brig USA and Fluid Marine have announced the appointment of Carl Herndon as the new president of both companies. Herndon will oversee Brig USA’s recreational Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) division and Fluid Marine’s Patrol, Search and Rescue (SAR), and Swift Water Rescue (SWR) boat sales and production.

Herndon’s role comes as Brig and Fluid expands its market presence, providing Brig recreational RHIBs through a network of nationwide dealers and Fluid patrol boats to state, local and federal agencies, commercial clients, and space recovery organisations across the US.

With 30 years of experience in the industry, Herndon is recognised for his work in designing and manufacturing semi-custom production boats. He has founded several businesses across various sectors, including boat manufacturing and dealerships. Herndon has also contributed to the success of various boat manufacturers, including Streamline R, Jupiter Marine, and Blackfin Yacht Corporation.

“I’m really excited to take on this new role, and support both Brig’s and Fluid’s continued growth,” says Herndon. “For Fluid, making sure our police and firefighters are safe on the water, while they serve their communities, is a significant priority, and one I look forward to continuing.” Fluid’s boats range in size from 13 to 36’ (4-11m), are equipped with Hypalon tubes and law enforcement gear, and are available through various government contracting vehicles.

“We will continue to focus on the performance and quality of our boats,” Herndon says. “Our production vessels are built to a higher standard and designed to meet the needs of both the recreational and commercial markets.” Brig boats are available through nationwide dealers.

Brig RIBs are designed and built on location at the firm’s headquarters in Ukraine. After a year of forced hiatus due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Brig factory in Kharkiv resumed production in 2023.
