British Motor Yacht Show deemed a success

The British Motor Yacht Show, held at Swanwick Marina 1-9 August, has been deemed a socially distanced success by the organisers.
One of the UK’s first boat shows to successfully go ahead post lockdown, it was backed by top British luxury motor yacht brands Fairline, Sunseeker, Princess and Premier Marinas.
Featuring a collection of yachts from the three brands, the in-water displays were a ‘must visit’ for buyers who wanted time to look around each vessel and have Q&As with the various brokerages, having booked appointments in advance to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
This year’s event also welcomed a number of other high-profile UK and overseas brands including Axopar, Azimut, Bavaria, Bayliner, Beneteau, Brabus, BRIGG, Chris Craft, Greenline, Invictus, Jeanneau, Prestige, Sealine, and Williams Jet Tenders.
Fairline had a successful show, with customers being offered the opportunity to board the highly anticipated F//Line 33 – a winner in the Motorboat Awards 2020. Richard Bates, Managing Director, was impressed with the outcome: “This year’s show has been the best we have ever experienced in the seven years the British Motor Yacht Show has been running. We sold a brand new T50 and a T45GT at the show, along with smaller inflatable boats and used models. The business generated from the show has been remarkable.”
During the nine-day event, Princess Motor Yacht Sales unveiled a new breed of yacht, the Princess R35, plus six models in the water including the S62 and S66. “Princess Motor Yacht Sales and Argo Yachting were very pleased with the BMYS 2020 and received strong enquiries for the Princess Yachts, Chris Craft, and used and brokerage craft available,” says Sales Director, Roger Lipman, of Princess Motor Yacht Sales. “As expected, the visitor numbers were down from more normal times but those who did attend were able to view all the yachts in a safe and relaxed environment and were able to focus on their boating plans in the usual unhurried atmosphere of BMYS. We achieved unexpectedly high sales at the show and very much look forward to the 2021 edition in our more natural and preferred month of May!”
The Premier Agapi Boat Club made its debut at the show, showcasing the first two arrivals into the Club’s fleet of high-performance boats, including the award-winning Agapi 950 which was available to view in the water. It offers a subscription boat club model and a variety of membership styles that allow clients to select a fee plan to reflect their choice of boat models, level of usage and service requirements, as well as access to Agapi Club Centres in multiple locations.
September will see two further boats shows go ahead in Southampton, The Ocean Village Boat Show and Boats 2020.
