Brownell opens expanded US manufacturing site

Brownell Boat Stands & Equipment, US-based manufacturer of boat storage equipment, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Dartmouth – in the US state of Massachusetts. The move follows the 2023 groundbreaking ceremony and marks a significant change for the firm, which had operated out of its previous location for more than 40 years.
The new site covers 50,000 square feet (4,650 square metres), making it 10 per cent larger than Brownell’s former facility. The layout has been developed to support a more streamlined production flow. According to the company, this is expected to increase output, improve efficiency and help maintain consistent product standards.
The company has stated that the updated facility supports its continued emphasis on domestic manufacturing practices – something that will undoubtedly become more important for many US-based manufacturers as Trump’s trade war rolls on.

“We’ve spent the last 70 years cementing ourselves as the premier boat stand and equipment manufacturer, and we’re excited to continue that commitment to excellence for the next 70 as we move into the future,” says Alex Kavanaugh, president of Brownell Boat Stands.
“Throughout our entire history as a company, we’ve never had a recall or a failure, proving our loyalty to high-quality standards and our customers. Our new home will serve as a testament to that dedication to produce the best products offered in our industry.”
The company, which has now surpassed 70 years in operation, focuses on the production of boat storage equipment. In 2023, the firm expanded into the superyacht segment with a new line of ‘Mega Boat Stands’ for both motor and sailing superyachts.
