BSI Group acquires OYS Rigging

Danish marine group, BSI has acquired OYS Rigging, and with immediate effect takes ownership of the OYS Rigging brand, and all associated assets.

“We are delighted to be owners of OYS, with a UK facility and working together with the knowledgeable manufacturing team,” comments Morten Madsen, Managing Director of BSI A/S. “This purchase will see the BSI Group become the largest supplier of rod rigging and we look forward to providing a truly exceptional global product.”

Not included in the acquisition are OYS Thrusters and OYS Hydraulics. These products will continue to be provided by Ocean Marine Systems – OMS. Until now Ocean Marine Systems had been under the same ownership as OYS explains Mark Barwell former Sales Director at OYS and current Sales Director at OMS. “This recent development sees the brands dividing and creating their own paths,” says Barwell. “This is an exciting time for all involved.”

OYS Rigging will remain with a headquarters in the UK and, for the foreseeable future, in the OYS factory in Ocean House, Christchurch, UK. A new South Coast premises is to be announced early in 2021.

“We wish BSI all the best with the OYS Rigging range,” adds Barwell. “Our team are on hand to support the transition here in the UK. We look forward to focusing our attention on the Ocean Marine Systems range of products.”
