BSI Marine Equipment Group — a manufacturer of specialist equipment for the marine industry — has acquired the Danish control systems company Lyngaa Marine.

Lyngaa Marine, established in 2008, develops alarm and control systems for various sectors, including superyachts, commercial marine, fishing vessels and large ships. Its product range includes simple override systems for smaller fishing boats as well as advanced control systems for workboats, ferries, superyachts and large supply ships.

Mark Barwell, newly appointed chief commercial officer for BSI Marine Equipment Group, says: “The group has worked closely with Lyngaa Marine for several years using their excellent controls in both Hundested and Ocean Marine Systems (OMS) propulsion and thruster deliveries. Their technical knowledge and experience are second to none, and I am excited to see them join the BSI Marine Equipment Group.”

Per Christiansen of Lyngaa Marine will remain in his role as general manager. He says: “Today Lyngaa Marine can deliver all types of automation for a ship’s engine room and propulsion. I look forward to continuing the business in the same spirit as we always have done, and I am pleased to have gained new colleagues and new inspiration in the form of the BSI Marine Equipment Group.”

Lyngaa Marine operates from Birkerød, located 30 minutes north of Copenhagen.

BSI Marine Equipment Group designs and manufactures specialist marine equipment for sailing boats, motorboats and superyachts. The group develops products for cruising yachts, racing yachts and superyachts, focusing on performance in demanding conditions.
