Callegari RIB brand relaunches after buyout from aerospace manufacturer

Callegari Inflatable Boats relaunch The Callegari brand is returning to the market under new ownership

The Callegari inflatable boats brand is returning to the market following its acquisition by the Recchia Industrial Group, which has also taken control of associated assets and technical know-how.

Callegari, an Italian builder of inflatable boats, produced a large number of vessels from the 1970s onwards and established a presence in several international markets during that period.

The range will span models in 7m, 9m, 11m, 13m and 15-metre RIBs, with the first boat – a 15-metre-long flagship maxi-RIB – expected to be launched in September/October 2026.

The relaunch follows Aviorec’s involvement, a company within the Recchia Industrial Group that operates in the aerospace sector. Aviorec focuses on the design, industrialisation and production of structural parts and components made from composite materials, and manufactures composite flight components for aerospace applications.

Jacopo Recchia, CEO of Aviorec, holds a dual role within the renewed Callegari structure and is CEO of both firms. The position of sales manager is held by Giampaolo Capponi, who has experience in the nautical sector. Engineer Antonello Guidi serves as technical and operational director, while architect Francesca Rubbi is responsible for design management. Designer Lorenzo Guadagnucci is involved in the exterior design of the maxi‑RIB currently under development.

Speaking to MIN, Recchia says: “The new Callegari boats will be built entirely in Italy, with a production chain that aims for the highest quality, sustainability and innovation with selected level supplies.

“A distinctive element of the Callegari revival will be the application of production processes and quality controls managed according to the highest aeronautical standards,” says Recchia. “Each stage of production will follow rigorous protocols, with structural verification, material testing, and dimensional checks ensuring reliability and safety levels comparable to those required in the aerospace industry. The control processes will also be extended to the setup phases.

“As a testament to this approach, a dedicated pre-sales test and trial team has been established: each vessel will undergo rigorous testing before delivery to the customer, a focus that represents a first in the luxury inflatable boat segment and confirms the desire to position the brand at the highest quality levels in the industry.”
