Camper and Nicholsons releases yachting archive

Since 1782 Camper & Nicholsons has been synonymous with elegant sailing and motor yachts built to the very highest standards. And now the company has released its Gosport archive to prove the fact.

The archive features more than 3,500 vessels from the first yachts built in the 1820s until today, with more than 10,000 drawings, 1,300 photographs and films, and 1,500 documents. It was compiled over decades by the late Jeremy Lines, and recently consolidated into a single database which is available online.

Since 2001 when Nautor’s Swan acquired the historic Camper & Nicholsons Yard and archive in Gosport, the company says it’s been committed to preserving the name and maintaining the business with initiatives designed to promote the yard as a centre of yachting excellence.
