Canada’s largest RV group enters marine market

Pirate Cove Marina

Canada’s largest RV dealership group, Leisure Days RV, has acquired Pirate Cove Marina. The acquisition marks the group’s first marine dealership.

Operating in four Canadian provinces, Leisure Days RV currently owns and operates 32 RV stores, three Trailer Pro Canada locations, and three RV campgrounds. Pirate Cove will now be the first boat dealership in its portfolio.

Headquartered in Ottawa, the Leisure Days RV Group was started in 2003 when it opened RV Canada.

Owner of Pirate Cover Marina, Wendy Ramsey, told RV News: “In 1994, Pirate Cove Marina was started by my family, and in 2019 I purchased the business myself. I have had the opportunity to watch and help the marina grow to where is today. I am pleased to share that Leisure Days RV Group has purchased Pirate Cove Marina and I know that they will continue to give our customers the same great experience that my family and I have witnessed over the past 29 years. I look forward to continuing to be a part of their team.”

Leisure Days RV Group CEO Pat Butler says: “The operation has become a well-known boaters’ stop on the Rideau River near Kemptville with strong brands, excellent service, winterisation, storage and 93 docks with a gas dock. We look forward to continuing their strong tradition of excellent sales and service.”
