Cannes 2025: Sunseeker reveals new 40m project and flagship superyacht

Sunseeker chief executive Andrea Frabetti, sales and marketing director Sean Robertson, and sales manager, Mark Chinery, have revealed a raft of updates during the boatbuilder’s press call at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, which took place on Tuesday (9 September 2025).
The updates include the introduction of a new 40-metre superyacht, designed in collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski, and details of the new 134 Superyacht, a 40.45-metre flagship vessel. These updates underpin the brand’s ambition to grow at the top end of the market. The firm — which launched a superyacht division at boot 2025 in January — has also revealed a new, simpler, naming convention for its models.
Business and financial updates
In November 2024, Italy’s Orienta Capital Partners and US’s Lionheart Capital bought Britain’s Sunseeker International from China’s Wanda real estate group. The deal followed months of speculation, which began in spring 2024, when Wanda Group started to sell off its core businesses.
In June 2025, the firm made around 200 redundancies — about 10 per cent of its workforce — across support, leadership and management roles. The boatbuilder highlighted “softening in global demand” following “political and economic uncertainties” in a media statement.
Sunseeker recorded a gross margin increase from 10 per cent in 2022 to 13 per cent in 2024, while EBITDA rose from £12.1m in 2022 to £25.9m in 2024. Sunseeker plans to invest £50m in its range by 2029, including 50 new or refreshed models, three of which will be superyachts.
New 40-metre project with Francesco Paszkowski

Sunseeker has confirmed a new partnership with Italy-based yacht designer Paszkowski, known for projects such as Tankoa’s 72-metre Solo, Sanlorenzo Onyx and a long-standing collaboration with Baglietto.
The first project of the partnership will be the all-new Sunseeker superyacht 40M, with
initial designs revealed during the press call.
Paszkowski’s work is recognised for blending interior and exterior spaces, with the 40-metre model featuring a forward plunge pool that converts into a seating area to expand overall versatility. The partnership will see new design projects unveiled in due course.
Ocean range expands with 74 Ocean

Among the new models presented during the press call was the new 74 Ocean, available in standard and flybridge versions. The yacht includes an open beach club with fold-down balconies.
A large flybridge and extended forward area provide panoramic views and can be configured for different uses, while private foredeck seating with saloon access offers owners a private retreat.
Below deck, the layout includes a full-beam master cabin with ensuite, three further ensuite guest cabins and dedicated crew accommodation for two with discreet access. An enclosed raised pilothouse is also available as an option. Interior styling is developed with Design Unlimited, incorporating the latest finishes from the Sunseeker Interiors Collection.
The 134 Superyacht flagship

Also highlighted during the Cannes press event was the 134 Superyacht, a new flagship 40.45-metre vessel.
It features elongated superstructure lines, bold hull glazing and an extended hardtop. Exterior areas include customisable aft decks, an upper terrace and flybridge with options such as a spa tub or secondary helm. The aft lower deck integrates lounge seating with a bathing platform to enhance the connection to the water.
Inside, the flagship interior layout provides contemporary spaces with scope for personalisation, alongside a forward main deck master stateroom of substantial proportions and additional accommodation for ten guests.
The yacht houses a Williams 565 tender and two jet skis within a dedicated garage. Powered by twin MTU engines with optional upgrades, the 134 offers a top speed of 20 knots and a range of more than 1,200 nautical miles at 10 knots, with the option of exhaust after-treatment systems.
Warranty update
Frabetti confirmed the company will extend its manufacturer warranty from two to three years across all models. “These announcements mark an exciting new chapter for Sunseeker,” he says. “We are strengthening the range and setting new standards in aftersales care with the introduction of our extended three-year warranty.
“Coupled with significant investment and a pipeline of new models, Sunseeker is well positioned to deliver sustained growth while reaffirming our reputation for British craftsmanship and global leadership in luxury yachting.”
Global Sunseeker naming system introduced

The company’s display at Cannes also included the Superhawk 55, Predator 55, Manhattan 55, Manhattan 68 with a redesigned interior, 75 Sport Yacht, 76 Yacht, 82 Ocean enclosed, 90 Ocean and 100 Yacht.
Sunseeker confirmed during the press call that it has introduced a new standardised global naming convention across its range. Models will now be named according to their overall length in metres rather than gross tonnage, grouped under revised categories to reflect customer use and design preferences.
The former Sport Yachts category has been consolidated within the Performance range.
Frabetti explained that the update is intended to provide clarity and consistency for customers, dealers and partners worldwide as the brand expands its superyacht line-up.
Founded in 1969 and based in Poole, Dorset, Sunseeker produces around 100 boats annually, with 98 per cent exported. The company employs about 1,900 people.
Sunseeker also runs training and early careers programmes and launched the Sunseeker Skills Academy in partnership with Bournemouth and Poole College.
