Technical Marine Supplies brings Colt wire tension gauge to European market

Marine rigging hardware supplier Technical Marine Supplies has started European distribution of the Colt wire tension gauge, a tool designed to enhance the efficiency and safety of marine rigging.

The Colt wire tension gauge is said to be capable of measuring tensions up to 5,000kg on wires ranging from 5mm to 25mm in diameter.

Technical Marine Supplies (TMS) says each Colt comes with a dedicated carry case and a specially designed calibration tool, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming back-to-base calibrations.

The Colt is equipped with pre-loaded specifications for all hamma wire products, as well as specifications for all other popular wire manufacturers. This comprehensive database is accessible through an included app, making it easier for marine rigging professionals to get precise measurements when they need them.

“We are excited to bring the Colt wire tension gauge to the European market,” says Nick Cook of Technical Marine Supplies. “This product embodies our commitment to providing the marine industry with innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance.

“The Colt is perfectly suited to checking rig tension on multihulls, which is extremely difficult to do on wires sizes over 10mm in diameter, and with more and more insurance companies asking for rig tension data, being able to accurately read and digitally store makes light work of a previously inaccurate and awkward task.”

The Colt wire tension gauge is now available for distribution across Europe.
