Advance Yacht Systems, a provider of marine equipment in the UK and Ireland, has introduced the latest Cristec YPower+ Shore Power Units, designed to provide more power, smarter connectivity and completely silent operation for yachts — without added complexity or cost.

Available in multiple power options, these chargers are said to integrate into existing setups, delivering efficient and reliable energy management while eliminating the noise of traditional cooling fans. This means quiet nights onboard, uninterrupted by background noise, while still delivering maximum charging efficiency.

The YPower+ models are now available in 12V-20A, 30A, 40A, and 60A, and are configurable with up to 4 MCBs.

For lithium power solutions, the YPower+ units are fully LiFePO4 compatible, which, Advance Yacht Systems says, provides safe and optimised charging. With Bluetooth and CAN-BUS connectivity, the chargers are ready for integration with compatible systems, offering seamless communication and monitoring when paired with the right equipment. More details are available on Advance Yacht Systems’ website.

“At Advance Yacht Systems, we’ve been supplying Cristec products for approximately 13 years because they consistently deliver reliable, innovative power solutions for yachts,” says Rob Cotterill, MD. “The new additions to the YPower+ range builds on that reputation, offering smarter connectivity, greater efficiency and seamless integration for both lithium and lead-acid battery setups. As demand for more advanced and quieter power management grows, we see these products as a key part of helping sailors future-proof their onboard energy systems.

“Cristec have specialised in power conversion since 1983 and with over 100,000 units in use around the world they are the market leader in modern high-performance switch-mode battery chargers. Cristec battery chargers are trusted by boatbuilders around the world and are fitted as standard to Jeanneau, Beneteau and Bavaria yachts amongst others.”

One of the key features is the ability to convert supply voltage, allowing boat owners to power devices that require a different voltage from their service network.

The Cristec YPower+ DC-DC chargers are designed to charge a wide range of battery banks, from 12V to 48V. The YPower+ offers compatibility with various networks. Whether operating a 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V system, these chargers are said to deliver exceptional performance and adaptability.

The YPower+ supports battery-to-battery charging, enabling conversion of a service voltage into a different one to facilitate efficient energy transfer between battery banks. For example, a 24V bow thruster battery bank can be charged from a 12V network.

YPower+ also has built-in capability to stabilise power. As current is drawn from the input, it adjusts to compensate for any voltage drops, stabilising the output and ensuring devices receive the power they need, even under varying load conditions.

Advance Yacht Systems says the system is ideal for off-grid cruising, hybrid systems and long-haul adventures, as it’ll bring performance and reliability no matter where a journey goes.

In December 2024, Advance Yacht Systems introduced the Remoran EasyLift: a mounting and deployment system for marine hydrogenerators.  The system, designed specifically for the Remoran Wave 3 hydrogenerators, offers functionality for sustainable energy production at sea.  Advance Yacht Systems has an exclusive distribution partnership with Remoran and is the sole distributor of its products in the UK and Ireland.
