Dometic enters marine stabiliser market with new DG3 system
Marine technology manufacturer Dometic has introduced its first gyrostabiliser, the DG3, designed for boats between 35ft and 41ft. The new system aims to reduce boat roll motion and enhance stability in rough waters.
The DG3 features a fully electric design that achieves operational readiness in 16 minutes and cools down in 20 minutes. According to the firm, this represents a significant reduction in wait times compared to existing market solutions. The company also states the system uses 40 per cent less power than comparable stabilisers.
Key technical features include an electric Roller Screw technology that eliminates the need for hydraulic actuators, compatibility with 12, 24, and 48-volt house battery systems and a design that fits within standard installation footprints of existing stabiliser systems.
Eric Fetchko, Dometic marine segment president, comments: “We’re not just launching a new product; we’re taking Dometic into an important new category for the global boating business.”
The DG3 is the first in a planned series of gyrostabilisers from Dometic. “We are excited about bringing this new technology to the marine market and exploring new ways we can integrate it with our other ride and control solutions in the future,” Fetchkom adds.
The system was unveiled at the 2025 Miami International Boat Show and is now available to global boat manufacturers.
