The Transat Jacques Vabre sees the first competitive outing for Thomson’s new IMOCA 60 race boat, which hit the water for the first time in August after more than two years in design and build. Designed by the Alex Thomson Racing team and naval architects VPLP, the yacht was built on the south coast by world renowned British boat builder, Jason Carrington.

The race forms part of the build up to the 2020-21 Vendée Globe, and will be a key testing and learning opportunity of the new yacht for Thomson and his team.
