Engel Refrigeration appoints UK and Ireland distributor

Portable fridge and freezer manufacturer Engel Refrigeration has appointed Global Distribution Solutions Ltd (GDS) as its exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for the marine leisure, commercial and outdoor sectors.

“We are delighted with this announcement,” says GDS director Adrian Gray. “Engel Refrigeration is without question the premier brand within this segment and a fantastic addition to our portfolio.”

Engel was founded in Japan over 60 years ago and has sold more than three million portable fridges worldwide. The company says its compressor fridges draw 0.3 to 0.5 amps per hour, which it claims is around 40 per cent less than a traditional compressor.

Engel fridges and freezers are designed for campers, boat and caravan owners, and off-road enthusiasts. Its products are both battery-operated (12/24V DC) and current-operated (220V AC), and offer hermetic closing and quality insulation.

GDS is a sales, distribution and channel management company based in Devon in the United Kingdom, which supplies marine products to the trade.
