ePropulsion has expanded its electric outboard lineup with the launch of the eLite 500W Long Shaft, a lightweight electric motor designed for small vessels with higher transoms over 15 inches, such as drift boats and inflatable fishing boats.

Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas, comments: “We were thrilled with the industry and market reaction to the launch of our versatile eLite, and we’re excited to enhance that line with the introduction of the eLite Long Shaft.”

The new model builds on the original eLite platform introduced earlier this year, offering additional flexibility with an upgraded, more durable bracket mechanism and a redesigned mounting system for faster, tool-free installation and removal. The tiller handle doubles as a carry handle for portability.

Weighing 16.1 pounds including its integrated battery, the eLite Long Shaft features a direct-drive motor, adjustable trim and steering resistance, and multiple shaft positions, including a shallow-water mode. It’s Smart Battery Management System actively manages temperature, charge level and battery health, and the operational data is displayed on a streamlined interface.

The unit delivers near-silent operation with minimal maintenance requirements and is rated IP67 waterproof. A built-in auto kick-up feature protects the motor in the event of grounding.

“Whether looking for a reliable motor for an inflatable fishing boat or tender, the perfect engine should be lightweight, easy to mount and remove, easy to use and provide the range and speed for almost any conditions. We considered all of this when creating the next generation of the eLite, and we’re confident these outboards check all of the boxes,” Watson adds.

The eLite Long Shaft joins ePropulsion‘s existing electric outboard range, which also includes the Spirit 1.0 Plus and Evo, Navy Series, X-Series and I-Series inboards.
