ExploMar has announced a strategic partnership as it advances into the Chinese market. The company is now collaborating with what has been described as a top-tier dealer in China’s outboard motor market, with over 20 years of expertise.

The agreement includes nearly 100 electric outboard units and highlights the mutual commitment of both companies to achieving a zero-carbon future in water mobility.

“We are delighted to join forces with the local dealer,” says ExploMar’s CEO Alex Dong. “By deploying our cutting-edge electrification technologies, we aim to prioritise user experience and promote the sustainable development of water mobility in China, working together to bring a carbon neutral vision to life.”

Founded in 2021, ExploMar describes itself as a pioneer in high-performance electric outboard systems. It provides mid to high-power electric outboard systems

It says it’s committed to developing a comprehensive after-sales support system in addition to product delivery. This former will encompass specialised technical training, regular maintenance, and prompt repair services to meet customer needs efficiently. The goal is to provide a cost-effective, convenient, and enjoyable experience in electric mobility, while also fostering the widespread adoption of zero-carbon water transportation in China.

When it comes to the readiness of the Chinese boating community to embrace electrification, Dong adds: “There’s an increasing awareness of the advantages of electric vehicles (EVs) within the market. People are already familiar with the environmental and economic benefits of electrification and are eager to see the same advancements in boating. What they’re most interested in is whether the current electric outboard systems can meet their operational needs based on their specific demands.”

ExploMar, which is based in Shanghai, recently integrated axial flux motors and steer-by-wire technology into its products. It also announced it’s been busy delivering its systems to Italy, the Netherlands, and China.
