Both Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats in multi agency dive incident

Both Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats were launched by the UK Coastguard at 10:30am on Saturday 25 November 2017, after it was reported that a diver had been separated from their dive party, and was in distress.

Due to the severity of the situation, a UK Coastguard rescue helicopter was diverted to the incident and airlifted the casualty directly to hospital from the dive boat.

With concerns that other divers were still in the water, all three lifeboats carried out a thorough search of the area before receiving an update around 30 minutes later, that all divers had been accounted for.

With no further assistance required, all units were stood down and returned to station.
