ePanda Series 8.0 to make world debut at METS

Fischer Panda 5kW electric shaft drive

Marine power and system solutions specialist Fischer Panda UK has announced that the new ePanda Series 8.0, comprising a new 5kW electric shaft drive, will make its world debut at METSTRADE 2022 (15-17 November).

This latest advancement in smart electric power technology from the German manufacturer has been developed in response to strong demand for complete power solutions for low-powered recreational craft.

Comprising the ePanda Drive, the ePanda Power Unit and the ePanda Control Unit, the ePanda Series 8.0 includes the newly developed 5 kW shaft drive. The air-cooled drive, which forms a fixed unit with the inverter, is brushless, sensorless and features permanent magnet technology. This makes it a low-maintenance, extremely efficient drive, weighing only 22 kg.

“Fischer Panda has been producing highly robust, commercially graded electric motors for over 20 years, which are widely considered as the best in the market, “said Chris Fower, sales and marketing director at Fischer Panda UK. “In response to the growing demand for complete electric solutions from recreation boat builders, the new ePanda series is derived from these many years of experience and will be a driver of future technology in this arena.”

Fischer Panda UK offers ready-to-install solutions supported by a range of battery management systems from well-known brands such as Mastervolt, which specifically support the requirements of the UK marine market.

The firm recently appointed Peter Bambury as sales executive for its marine division, after a period of growth.

The new 5kW shaft drive for 48V systems will be shown alongside the ePanda Series 8.0 for the first time on the Fischer Panda stand 02.509 at METSTRADE in Amsterdam this week.
