Fischer Panda UK brings excess power storage system into mix
Fischer Panda UK is expanding its portfolio. It’s now offering what’s described as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional power sources in the form of an e-power system from Integrel Solutions.
It collects the spare energy created during the normal operation of a vessel’s engine, producing up to 18kW of energy that is stored in a 48V lithium battery bank. The stored power is used to generate electrical energy where required, not only powering heavy power-draw systems such as 48V bow thrusters and winches, but also 12V domestic items like fridges, instruments and other onboard equipment. This occurs while allowing the engine to run at its best possible performance levels.
Fischer Panda UK claims that the system improves the fuel efficiency of a propulsion engine by up to 25 per cent. It reduces fuel consumption and provides an alternative (or additional) power source to a traditional generator.

Integrel already works with a number of boatbuilders to enhance the green and efficiency credentials of their vessels and says its e-power solution is ideal for a wide range of marine applications, including leisure boats and workboats.
