Global Marine Business Advisors expands team with certification expert 

Global Marine Business Advisors (GMBA) is welcoming Ulrich (Uli) Heinemann as its newest consultant. The new role responds to the marine industry’s need for specialised skills in yacht certification, marine engineering, and regulatory expertise, the organisation says. 

Heinemann brings more than five decades of experience in marine engineering and yacht certification. This includes over two decades as managing director of the International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI) plus leadership roles within ISO and CEN standards committees. As founder and leader of Heinemann-Yacht-Assessment, Heinemann has advanced yacht certification, safety standards, and innovation.

According to the GMBA, the growing global market needs in yacht safety, regulatory compliance, and maritime engineering excellence. Heinemann’s role will enhance GMBA’s capability to offer comprehensive guidance in yacht certification and marine industry standards.

In March 2025, the international network of marine industry experts, (GMBA), appointed Richard Haws as the organisation’s new representative in Saudi Arabia.
