GX Superyachts is focusing on commercial execution as it moves from concept development into yacht delivery, appointing industry veteran Maurizio Magri as chief commercial officer and a member of its board. The hire signals a shift toward converting market interest into confirmed orders as the shipyard advances multiple projects, including its first yacht delivery scheduled for 2026.

Magri joins the company at a critical point, with the GX42 RPH now in the outfitting stage and further development underway for the GX38 Voyager and GX34. With more than 40 years of experience across the maritime and yachting sectors, his remit is centred on sales leadership, customer relationships, and commercial strategy as the brand scales its operations.

“I am very excited to be leading sales at GX Superyachts,” Magri (pictured) says. “As chief commercial officer, I will be looking to help the business convert enquiries to orders after a stellar 15 months which have seen three new models launched: GX42, GX38 Voyager and GX34.”

Magri is an Italian national who attended the Naval Academy of Livorno and Texas A&M University, where he studied maritime business administration. His career spans multiple sectors, including oil and gas and defence, before focusing more closely on yachting. Previous roles include senior positions at CBI Navi, Admiral, Technomar and Wider, where he worked on brand positioning, commercial strategy and sales growth.

GX Superyachts founder Vladimir Zinchenko says the appointment reflects the company’s need for experienced leadership as interest in its product range grows. “Young yacht brands often struggle to make their voices heard above other, more established names, but GX Superyachts has not had this problem,” Zinchenko says. He adds that the company’s hybrid approach has resonated with prospective owners, creating the need for a more structured commercial focus.

Magri will be based in Monaco, where GX Superyachts plans to expand its commercial operations. From there, he will oversee customer relations and coordinate sales and public relations activities across the company’s target markets.

GX Superyachts offers fully custom yachts ranging from 24 to 56 metres, with the first GX42 RPH scheduled for delivery in summer 2026. More information about the company can be found on its website.
