German boatbuilder HanseYachts has released preliminary financial figures for the first half of fiscal year 2025, covering the period up to June.

Revenue declined to €77.37m from €90.70m in the same period of the previous year, reflecting general conditions in the global boatbuilding industry. Despite this, the firm reports that its profitability improved.

Operating EBITDA increased to €6.15m from €3.95m, supported by efficiency efforts, refinements in production processes and a more targeted sales strategy. The company also reported an operating result of €1.08m, compared with a loss of €1.18m in the same period last year.

The improved performance comes after the yacht manufacturer and builder of brands including Hanse, Fjord, Moody and Ryck was sold in May 2025 to a new investor.

In March 2024, the firm was delisted from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Agreements reached with financing banks, the federal state and the previous majority shareholder have resulted in a comprehensive debt waiver. This contributed to the net profit, including restructuring effects, which totalled €23.16m.

Hanjo Runde, CEO of HanseYachts AG, says: “The current market environment remains marked by uncertainty, with customer sentiment noticeably subdued across the global yacht market. Against this backdrop, our team delivered a strong performance in the first half of the year, which we can build on.

“We have taken targeted steps to position ourselves robustly — both operationally and strategically — even as the overall development of the market remains to be seen.”

In a statement, the company says it considers these preliminary results indicative of a return to stable operating performance.
