Flux Marine, a developer of electric outboard motors and battery systems, has announced that Highfield Boats, a manufacturer of aluminium rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), is its first official installation partner.

Since 2022, the two companies have already collaborated on the Highfield Sport 600 Electric – a RIB equipped with Flux Marine’s 115hp electric outboard. Under the new arrangement, Highfield will handle installation and rigging of Flux Marine’s outboards at its Cadillac, Michigan, facility, which will consequently speed up North American delivery times.

Christophe Lavigne, president of Highfield Boats USA, notes: “It was an amazing journey from the very first meeting with Flux Marine to today when we are in production with a really good product.”

This partnership follows the recent appointment of Paul Blanc as the new CEO of Highfield Boats, amid its ongoing growth and development plans.

Flux Marine’s electric outboards are designed to provide acceleration and continuous power comparable to conventional combustion engines, with reduced noise and minimal maintenance. The firm currently fulfils orders for both standalone motors and fully integrated boat packages.

Ben Sorkin, CEO of Flux Marine, adds: “This is an exciting milestone for Flux Marine as we expand access to more markets and dealers.

“It shows how leading brands like Highfield are not only embracing but accelerating the shift to marine electrification. Together with our hull partners, we’re raising the bar for marine propulsion with performance-driven technology that delivers the true thrill of electric boating.”
