Horizon completes $15m yard expansion

Horizon Yachts has expanded its production facility to include a new 106,745sqft (9,917sqm) space, which can accommodate seven yachts (up to 120 feet in length) and improves production capacity, allowing Horizon to now deliver 20 to 25 new builds per year.

The new production facility was constructed on the Horizon grounds in a space formerly used for mold storage and began operations in February 2021.

The expansion is the result of a two-year planning process, focussing on the re-designation of existing workspaces and an efficient horizontal production queue.

The hull production division of group subsidiary Atech Composites has also been relocated to the main yard to streamline the manufacturing process of each hull. Each stage of construction, from hull production to boat assembly and testing will be carried out in the same vicinity.

In addition to the new facility, construction is currently underway on a materials warehouse and a brand-new office building designed to house the factory management department. The new building is expected to be completed in early 2022.
