HPi Verification Services (HPiVS), a provider of technical and regulatory verification services, has appointed Adam Greene as its new technical director (marine). Greene, previously naval architecture manager at Princess Yachts, has extensive experience in the design and development of luxury yachts.

Greene will assume the role from Bas Edmonds in September. Edmonds, who recently returned from officiating at the Paris 2024 Olympics sailing regatta, will continue to support HPiVS as an external consultant. The firm says his continued involvement will ensure a smooth transition and maintain expertise, particularly concerning commercial craft.

With 12 years at Princess Yachts and an additional decade of experience with power and sailboat builders in the UK, Italy, and Spain, Greene is recognised for his knowledge of regulatory frameworks and engineering solutions.

“We are pleased to welcome Adam to HPi Verification Services,” said Alasdair Reay, CEO of HPiVS. “His expertise in naval architecture, particularly with larger yachts, will support the continued development of our marine division. We also extend our thanks to Bas Edmonds for his years of service and are glad he will remain as a consultant.”

Greene adds: “I am delighted to join HPiVS, having successfully collaborated on several projects in the past. I look forward to leading the marine team and continuing to deliver high-quality service to our clients and colleagues in the marine sector.”

HPi Verification Services certifies boats for well-known brands including Baltic, Bavaria, Oyster, Axopar, Sunseeker, and Nimbus. The company is also involved in certifying hydrogen-powered boats, including Emirates Team New Zealand’s Chase Zero, a hydrofoiling hydrogen-powered chase boat used in the America’s Cup.

HPiVS is known for its verification services across various industries and partners with global organisations such as ABS, TÜV, and RINA.

HPiVS says Greene’s appointment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the marine sector.
