IGY Marinas has announced the promotion of Brian Deher to executive vice president and head of global marina operations.

In his new role, Deher will oversee marina operations across 24 destinations in 14 countries and on four continents. The appointment supports the group’s ongoing focus on operational performance across its international network.

Deher has more than three decades of experience in the marine sector, including 20 years in senior leadership positions at IGY. Most recently, he served as vice president of operations for the Americas, managing locations in the US, Caribbean, and Latin America.

During his tenure, several IGY Marinas received industry recognition, including Platinum accreditation for IGY Yacht Haven Grande, St Thomas, and 5-Gold Anchor awards for IGY Yacht Club, Isle de Sol, IGY Simpson Bay Marina, IGY Rodney Bay Marina, and IGY Cabo San Lucas Marina. He has also contributed to the firm’s development initiatives.

Steven English (who was appointed IGY Marinas’ CEO in September 2024 by MarineMax) comments: “We are delighted to recognise Brian’s contributions and leadership through this well-earned appointment.

“His unparalleled knowledge of marina operations, deep industry relationships, and commitment to IGY’s mission and clients uniquely position him to lead our marina operations.”

Born in St Maarten, Deher has also held multiple leadership roles within regional industry associations, including several terms as president and executive board member of the St Maarten Marine Trades Association (SMMTA) and as a board representative with the Caribbean Marine Trades Association.
