IMarEST launches refreshed membership platform

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) has launched IMarEST Connect, a new online portal exclusively for members that allows them to engage and connect with other members from around the world.

The institute says IMarEST Connect will bring members closer to their marine network, both at home and around the world, providing a platform to create new discussions or take part in existing conversations. It’s designed for members to connect with colleagues, ask questions, discuss issues, share best practices, challenges, accomplishments, schedule events, have snap polls, and more.

Along with all-member areas, IMarEST Connect also includes specific sections for the institute’s branches, special interest groups and committees to collaborate, plus there are dedicated networking group categories for its students, young professionals and seafarer communities.

“We’re delighted to launch IMarEST Connect, an exciting new membership benefit that is now accessible to everyone in our wonderful community,” says Chris Goldsworthy, IMarEST chief executive, who took up the role in January. “My thanks to those groups who have helped test the platform. We now encourage all our members to explore the platform and take part in some of the discussions already in place.

“The results from our recent member survey highlighted the importance of international collaboration and online engagement, so we hope IMarEST Connect will offer significant value to our global community.”
