Iris Innovations launches micro-compact camera

Iris says it has created the world’s smallest through hull/bulkhead camera as the ideal solution for those looking for surveillance in tough environments. It’s called the Iris-735.

Its low-profile design is ideal for through-hull mounting on the sides or stern of the vessel to provide all round coverage when docking or it can be fitted to an engine room bulkhead to enable remote monitoring of the engine.

Machined from marine grade 316L stainless steel the camera is smaller than a golf ball, only 28mm diameter by 36mm long, and is waterproof to IP67 standards.

Designed to sit flush against a surface with a bezel height of only 8.5mm and utilising a 140 degree wide angle lens, Iris says it provides an ideal solution for unobtrusive surveillance where space is at a premium.

The camera module features a Sony Starlight sensor for all light conditions and can easily be switched to output various composite or analogue High-Definition video formats.

“Our latest micro-camera is ideal for both stand alone use or as an integral part of our CMAC comprehensive on-board security and surveillance package,” says MD Carl Hitchcock. He says it’s compatible with on-board chart plotters, monitors and TV screens, and is easily installed on board.
