Join Karen Dickens, Comitti Boats, and MIN, for Women in Marine seminar

Flexing business muscles post-pandemic

Join Karen Dickens, chairman & CEO Comitti Boats UK & Caribbean, for this exclusive online seminar as she explores the concept of flexing business muscles to gain long-term resilience.

It’s on Thursday 22 April, starting at 11am, and is the second in MIN’s Women in Marine series. Register to attend this exclusive online seminar.

Dickens is the CEO of Comitti Boats, importing beautiful Italian craft to the UK and Caribbean. She started the company in 2018, after a fascinating career in the oil industry. But the past 12 months has seen her looking at opportunities for the future, and how she can rework her business model to meet current, and changing demands.

Free attendance at Women in Marine is made possible by the kind sponsorship of Barton Marine.

“Marine Industry News is providing a dynamic service to women in the marine trades by creating a virtual forum for women to meet, network and hear presentations from all realms of the marine industry,” says Suzanne Blaustone.

“Barton Marine is proud to co-sponsor these Women in Marine events and opportunities. Our last event featured Laura Mead from TeamO who inspired women to take their ideas to market and how to meet the business challenges that create successful brands and products.”

This time, Dickens will take the seminar through her process of asking how she could try to make her business even stronger for the future, including the many benefits of CSR (corporate social responsibility), and highlight key questions which all marine business owners should be thinking about as the industry looks to an uncertain future.

Comitti Boats UK & Caribbean has offices located in the beautiful Georgian town of Lymington and in the stunning Port Ferdinand Yacht & Beach Club in Barbados. Dickens works closely with owners through the semi-bespoke construction of each boat whether it be a family coastal cruiser or a superyacht tender.

The Comitti boatyard was opened in 1956 beside the idyllic shores of Lake Como by Mario Comitti, where building wooden speed boats transformed a passion into a longstanding family tradition. The Comitti fleet epitomises both contemporary and classical Italian designs across four different model families: Breva, Venezia, Isola & Di Legno.

Register today be part of this exclusive online event, the second session in MIN’s Women in Marine series. Register to attend this exclusive online seminar.
