Lalizas launches hydrostatic release unit for life rafts

Based on its long-term experience in life raft manufacturing, Lalizas has designed and produced a HRU (hydrostatic release unit), which is says is suitable for life rafts of all shapes and sizes in the market.

After three years of R&D, as well as quality assurance, testing and approvals, the product is designed to automatically activate in the event of sinking in a depth of between 1.5 and 4m. The company says that no spare parts or maintenance are required although it will need to be replaced two years after installation. Its maximum lifetime is five years after the production date.
