Laura Taylor joins TMC Marine as consultant naval architect

Marine consultancy TMC Marine has appointed Laura Taylor as a consultant naval architect.

TMC says the appointment comes as the company scales its global presence and scope of consultancy services in the UK, USA and Asia.

Laura joins TMC Marine’s London office from Shell, where she was the naval architecture lead on multiple projects. With over 20 years of experience across different sectors and vessel types, Taylor’s experience spans new-build tenders and construction contracts, including future fuels development and decarbonisation, operations planning in-service maintenance and decommissioning.

“Laura’s strong, diverse background strengthens our core competencies,” says Marcus Cave, TMC Marine’s casualty, claims and dispute solutions GSL Lead. “She brings first-hand experience of new and developing technologies which will complement our alternative technologies and carbon transition teams. We look forward to introducing Laura in person to our clients in the near future and working to develop her professional goals within our team.”

Taylor says: “The move to TMC Marine allows me to focus on technical consultancy, drawing on my experience across many different vessel types, particularly in the fields of future fuels, electric vessels, LNG and emerging technologies.”

TMC Marine’s naval architecture practice includes 10 naval architects working from offices across the UK and in Singapore.
