Major milestone as 10,000th Rapid Padeye is sold

United Kingdom-based Rapid Marine has sold its 10,000th Rapid Padeye deck fitting, a product designed for tender storage and safety on motor yachts.

The Rapid Padeye received industry acclaim at its debut, ranking in the top three in the Deck Equipment category at the DAME Awards at METSTRADE 2015, out of 157 products. Entries have just opened for this year’s upcoming DAME Awards.

Born from a flash of inspiration during an evening run in 2015 by managing director of Mike Evers, the Rapid Padeye is designed to overcome age-old problems with traditional eyebolts and folding padeyes.

While eyebolts pose a trip hazard and folding padeyes often pull free under load due to the lack of backing plates, Evers says the Rapid Padeye offers a safer, more durable solution.

Manufactured entirely in the UK, a foundation of the brand’s commitment to high quality products, the Rapid Padeye is a way for boat owners to upgrade their traditional eyebolts.

Fitted with a snap toggle fixing system the design aims to provide a robust backing plate without craning the boat out of the water, making it ideal for easy retrofitting. Its spring loaded, weather tight seal prevents water and debris from entering the padeye, and a secure locking mechanism ensures the tender remains safely stowed while on the water.

“We are thrilled to have reached the remarkable milestone of 10,000 units sold, which is a testament to the confidence that boat builders and owners have in the Rapid Padeye,” says Evers.

Rapid Marine offers three versions of the Padeye: The Flush Fitting for a seamless deck finish, the Low Profile for GRP and flybridges, and the Caulk Line model for synthetic teak decks.

Rapid Marine is continuing to grow its network and in 2024 appointed Versilia Supply Service (VSS) as its exclusive distributor in Italy.
