Manor Marine wins pontoon contract for Plymouth upgrade

Manor Marine has won its first contract with VolkerStevin to build two pontoons for the Thanckes Fuel Depot upgrade project in Plymouth, Devon.

The pontoons will serve as an upgraded crew access and refuelling pontoon. The refuelling pontoon will be 33 metres in length and the crew access pontoon 19 metres in length, both constructed from heavy duty steel. The pontoons are being built to meet Lloyds Classification Society rules.

Leif Cooper, managing director at Manor Marine says: “As you would expect from a customer such as VolkerStevin, the specification of the two pontoons is of an extremely high standard, so aligning that with Lloyds Classification rules and in-build surveys gives Manor Marine the opportunity to fully demonstrate the high quality of workmanship required to deliver pontoons of this calibre.”

Delivery of the new pontoons for VolkerStevin is scheduled for early summer 2021.
