Marina Industries Association confirms new sponsor

Gold Coast Queensland

Choice Energy is now sponsoring the Marina Industries Association (MIA), following a recent group energy procurement tender.

Choice Energy is an Australian energy consultancy specialising in energy procurement and quality commercial solar solutions for businesses. MIA is the leading marina industries association across the Asia Pacific region.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Choice Energy on board as an industry sponsor and thank them for their additional support and commitment to our industry,” says MIA president, Andrew Chapman.

The MIA and Choice Energy recently conducted a group electricity tender that resulted in significant savings and outcomes for members. The MIA members who participated in the tender benefited from combined annual energy savings of over AUS$250,000.

“Partnerships that help our members to control their business costs are valued,” says Suzanne Davies, MIA CEO. “As business energy costs continue to rise, the deeper involvement of Choice Energy with the industry will assist members in procuring cheaper energy options.”

In relation to the industry move towards decarbonisation, Davies adds: “The commercial solar solutions offered by Choice Energy will play an important role for members as they move to reducing their carbon footprint.”

Rebecca Xuereb, head of strategic partnerships at Choice Energy, comments: “Choice Energy is proud to come on board as a sponsor of the Marina Industries Association, the peak representative body for marinas.

“Businesses already face extensive amounts of pressure, and with further energy price increases anticipated over the coming months, there has never been a more important time for business operators to engage an expert to build confidence in their energy strategy and keep overheads as low as possible. We look forward to supporting members to lower their energy costs and environmental footprint through our quality energy solutions”.

Davies says that becoming an industry sponsor is “a great way for suppliers to remain ‘top of
mind’ and to ensure exposure in our growing industry”. In a recent MIA Member survey, it was
reported that nearly 64 per cent of members would actively consider MIA sponsors when making purchasing and acquisition decisions. “The MIA looks forward to this strong and mutually beneficial partnership with Choice Energy”, Davies adds.

In March 2023, MIN reported that MIA had launched its latest industry initiative, the Marina Supplier Directory. The online, searchable guide enables marina operators to search by supplier name, business category and product lines. It’s said the new directory will make it easier for marina managers to locate a broad range of products, suppliers and service providers, ensuring the industry has the widest choice of products and services available at the click of a mouse.
