Marine insurer Pantaenius unveils sea safety campaign and new role for MD

Marine insurance provider Pantaenius UK will unveil its new sea safety initiative, ‘Don’t be hasty, think safety!’, at the Southampton International Boat Show 2023.

Simon Hedley, head of commercial partnerships at Pantaenius UK, says: “At Pantaenius UK, we recognise the indispensable role that safety plays in every boater’s voyage. Sea safety is a cornerstone of our values. Our mission is to ensure that each maritime adventure is not only enjoyable but also as safe as possible. The ‘Don’t be hasty, think safety!’ campaign seamlessly aligns with our dedication to promoting the practice of responsible boating.”

The campaign will feature a boat show competition, affording boaters the opportunity to win an exclusive bundle of essential sea safety equipment from Pantaenius’ key collaborators, including Musto, Spinlock, Exposure OLAS and Ocean Safety.

Junior attendees will also have a chance to win a children’s life jacket from Ocean Safety.

Pantaenius UK will be on stand J174 in Ocean Hall. Here, visitors can delve deeper into the “Don’t be hasty, think safety!” campaign, participate in the exciting competition, and engage with the expert team to explore how Pantaenius can meet all boating insurance needs. Those unable to attend the boat show can still enter the sea safety bundle competition through the Pantaenius website.

New appointment at Pantaenius

Mike Wimbridge, managing Director at Pantaenius UK, is expanding his role and will be global superyacht lead and general chair for Pantaenius UK.

Wimbridge will serve as ‘the vanguard of cross-company synergy, overseeing projects that bridge geographical boundaries and standardise practices across global locations’.

“With centres of excellence in Monaco, Palma, Hamburg and the UK, Pantaenius is uniquely positioned to offer a high-level service proposition to the superyacht industry,” Wimbridge says.

It is hoped the consolidation of the superyacht team’s activities across the group, will result in a ‘coordinated and more robust approach to client service that spans continents’.

Pantaenius says that though his UK operational role transitions, Wimbridge’s influence on regulatory compliance and FCA adherence remains pivotal and involvement in the board will serve as a linchpin for the ongoing advancement of UK operations. Notably, his advocacy for industry education with a focus on highlighting Pantaenius’ strengths will amplify the company’s reputation as the trusted choice for marine insurance solutions. “We are entering a new era of heightened collaboration and cohesion,” he adds. “By developing open lines of communication and promoting synergy amongst our global teams, we are poised to amplify the impact of our collective efforts.”
