Marine titles bought by Future (publishing)

Marine Industry News has learned that Motorboat & Yachting, Yachting World, Yachting Monthly and PBO are being sold to Future. The deal (£140m) includes all the titles in TI Media’s publishing house (such as Country Life), and is expected to compete early 2020.

Future traditionally publishes tech, gaming, music and creative magazines.

Zillah Byng-Thorne, chief executive of Future, says: “The largely UK-focused, print-led nature of the TI Media portfolio offers a multiplicity of opportunities to leverage our proprietary technology stack and operating model to develop new audiences and geographic expansion.

“This deal marks the latest move in our strategy to expand our global reach through organic growth, acquisitions and strategic partnerships.”
